Cafe Macarong

One colourful website for three Korean-inspired neighbourhood cafés.

Cafe Macarong website

Café Macarong is a trio of independent neighbourhood cafés with Korean-inspired food at their heart and a soft spot for homemade cake. There are three locations: Kew Village at 10 Station Parade, Golders Green at 56 Golders Green Road, and East Molesey at 113 Walton Road. Kew and East Molesey are Korean bistro cafés serving poke, bibimbap, dupbap, noodles and Korean fried chicken, while Golders Green serves breakfast and brunch every day. All three share a counter of homemade cakes, macarons and café drinks.

The challenge was presenting three cafés with different menus and opening hours in one place, without confusing anyone. A visitor in Richmond and a visitor in north London need different answers, and the website had to get each of them to the right café quickly.

I designed the website around that choice. The homepage introduces the brand and then helps people find the café that fits their day: Korean-inspired favourites in Kew and East Molesey, or breakfast and brunch in Golders Green. A dedicated locations page lists each café’s address, nearest station, phone number and hours, such as Kew Village on the District Line and Overground and Golders Green on the Northern Line. The menu page covers bowls, Korean bistro dishes, brunch, cakes and drinks, and makes it clear which café serves what, so customers aren’t disappointed when they arrive.

Alongside the menu and locations, the site has an “Our Story” page about the independent, neighbourhood spirit behind the cafés, and a contact page that points people to their nearest café for the quickest answer about today’s menu, dietary information or opening times.

Bright food photography, a playful colour palette and simple navigation make the site feel as colourful as the cafés themselves. It’s a mobile-first website design that stays fast on a phone, which matters for people deciding where to eat while they’re out. For local SEO, every page has its own title and description, and each café is set up as its own location in the structured data, with its own address and phone number, so Google can show the right Café Macarong for searches in Kew, Golders Green and East Molesey.
