Regent Garden
A restaurant website built around menus, ordering and returning customers.
Regent Garden is a Chinese restaurant at 146 Walton Road in East Molesey, serving freshly prepared Chinese food to dine in, take away or have delivered locally. The menu ranges from comforting soups and crispy favourites to seafood and sizzling dishes, such as honey spare ribs, crispy shredded beef, steamed prawn dumplings, prawns in dragon sauce, sizzling fillet of steak Peking style and steamed fillets of sea bass.
The restaurant had a lot to communicate: a full food and drinks menu, a Pick & Mix menu for building your own set meal, online ordering for collection and delivery, table reservations, delivery terms and several offers with important conditions. The brief was to bring all of it together clearly, so customers could order or book without confusion.
I designed the website with six simple sections: home, our restaurant, menu, offers, gallery and contact. The menu page links to the full restaurant menu, the drinks list and the Pick & Mix menu, which replaced the old “eat as much as you like” option. Online ordering and reservations connect to the restaurant’s FoodBooking service, so customers can order ahead for collection, arrange local delivery or reserve a table in a couple of taps.
The offers page explains each promotion with its terms in plain view. The Happy Family Hour gives 15% off qualifying takeaway orders of £20 or more collected between 5pm and 6pm, excluding crispy aromatic duck and set meals and not on Sundays. The cash loyalty reward gives a token for spending over £30 in cash. Delivery information is clear too: free within a three-mile radius for orders over £18, otherwise a £2 fee.
Real dish photography, a look inside the restaurant and a short restaurant film help new customers choose. To respect privacy, the video and the interactive map only load when a visitor chooses to open them. Opening hours, directions, the phone number and email are always one tap away.
It’s a mobile-first website design built for people ordering on their phone, with clear page titles and descriptions for local SEO, so Regent Garden is easy to find when people search for a Chinese restaurant or takeaway in East Molesey.
