Independent businesses only, homepages checked in October 2026. Most of these are quick fixes, and each one costs enquiries.
Businesses with a website listed on OpenStreetMap or TrustATrader, across 7 towns; chains and my own clients left out. Each homepage was opened once and checked for a tap-to-call link, a booking or ordering option, a phone-friendly layout and the page title. No business is named. Want yours checked?

Claygate feels like a proper village, but it sits only a few minutes from Esher, with its own station on the line into London Waterloo. The shops and cafés near the station and along the village’s small parades serve a loyal local crowd: commuters picking up coffee, families at the weekend and neighbours who would rather support an independent than drive to a retail park.
In a village this size, word of mouth still matters, but it now happens online. Someone recommends you in a local Facebook group or a WhatsApp chat, and the next thing people do is search your name on Google. If your listing has old photos, missing opening hours or no website, a warm recommendation can go cold.
I work just up the road in East Molesey, where I’ve designed websites for salons, restaurants, a café and a garage on Walton Road. I’d be honest that I don’t have a Claygate client yet, but the needs are very similar: look trustworthy, show what you do, and make it effortless to call, book or visit.
For a Claygate business, the best starting point is usually small and practical. A tidy one-to-five page website, a complete Google Business Profile with real photos, and a clear way to book or get a quote. Tradespeople who work across Claygate, Esher and Hinchley Wood often need a simple quote form more than anything else, while cafés and salons gain most from online booking and up-to-date hours.
Yes, if it stays simple. Most people who hear about you through a recommendation will look you up before they call. A short, fast website and a complete Google listing make that first impression count.
Not yet. My clients are a short drive away in East Molesey and Kew. I’ll always be upfront about that and show you work that’s close to what you need.
Yes. Your Google Business Profile, service areas and website wording can cover Claygate, Esher, Hinchley Wood and nearby areas without looking spammy.
That’s often the right choice for a small village business. A single well-written page with your services, photos, hours and contact options can work very well.
Yes. I’m happy to meet at your premises or a café in the village to talk it through.
