Independent businesses only, homepages checked in October 2026. Most of these are quick fixes, and each one costs enquiries.
Businesses with a website listed on OpenStreetMap or TrustATrader; chains and my own clients left out. Each homepage was opened once and checked for a tap-to-call link, a booking or ordering option, a phone-friendly layout and the page title. No business is named. Want yours checked?

Islington has one of London’s densest runs of independent restaurants, bars and boutiques along Upper Street, from Angel up towards Highbury Corner, with the Almeida Theatre and the Business Design Centre pulling in evening and event crowds. Chapel Market adds a traditional street market, and Exmouth Market, on the Clerkenwell side, is known for its restaurants and lunchtime food.
The people who live and work here are discerning. They read menus before they book, compare reviews, and expect the website to reflect the quality of the place. A restaurant needs a menu that’s easy to read on a phone, a booking button that works and directions from Angel or Highbury & Islington. A boutique needs strong photography and, ideally, an online shop.
Islington is also home to lots of small professional firms, architects, therapists, tutors and clinics working from offices and converted houses. For them, a calm, credible website with clear services, prices or fees where possible, and a simple enquiry form often makes the difference between a call and a lost lead.
My client work is mainly in East Molesey and Kew, and I work across London. I can meet you near Angel or at your premises, review your current site and Google listing, and give you a clear, fixed quote.
Make the booking button the most obvious thing on every page, keep the menu as a real web page rather than a PDF, and keep your Google listing’s hours and photos current. Small changes there often matter more than a full redesign.
Not always. A UX audit can show exactly what’s putting people off, and a redesign can keep your content and Google rankings while making the site feel current.
Yes. A simple online shop with good product photos can sit alongside your shop and reach customers who don’t pass your window.
Yes, across Islington and the neighbouring areas.
Where you can, yes. Even a starting price or a range helps people decide to get in touch, and it filters out enquiries that wouldn’t be a good fit.
